Only 66% of nursing facility residents with severe mental illness had evidence of mandated Level II PASRR evaluation, and only 5% of Level II evaluated patients met all Federal requirements.1 Lack of state-level compliance has prompted the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to hold state Medicaid agencies accountable, promising more monitoring from CMS and potential federal funding impacts.
